Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Support and Quality Assurance

The Academic Strategic Planning Department (ASPD) provides comprehensive support for the implementation and quality assurance of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs at Universiti Malaya. ASPD is responsible for monitoring the development and implementation of Self-Instructional Materials (SIM) to ensure they meet the university’s standards of excellence.

ASPD also conducts training sessions and workshops for academic staff to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop effective SIMs for ODL programs. This service fosters consistency, innovation, and quality across all ODL offerings, supporting both full-time and part-time learners. By collaborating with faculties and other stakeholders, ASPD ensures that ODL programs deliver flexible, inclusive, and impactful learning experiences.
