Open CourseWare (OCW) Development and Support

The Academic Strategic Planning Department (ASPD) at Universiti Malaya leads the Open CourseWare at Universiti Malaya (OCW @UM) initiative, providing free and open access to quality educational materials developed by the university’s educators. This service aligns with the global Open Educational Resources (OER) movement, aiming to make knowledge accessible to anyone, anywhere.

ASPD ensures the effective curation and distribution of diverse educational content, including lecture notes, course modules, assignments, and multimedia resources, all contributed by Universiti Malaya’s educators. These materials are freely available to learners, educators, and institutions worldwide, fostering collaboration and the global sharing of knowledge.

Through its OCW initiative, ASPD demonstrates Universiti Malaya’s commitment to promoting lifelong learning, enhancing educational equity, and showcasing academic excellence to a global audience. By supporting educators in contributing to OCW UM, ASPD strengthens the university’s role in advancing open education practices and extending its impact beyond the classroom.
