The Academic Strategic Planning Department (ASPD) at Universiti Malaya leads the Microcredentials@UM initiative, launched in 2019 to empower educators in designing and publishing online courses. This service aligns with the university’s goal of expanding its digital learning portfolio and enhancing global accessibility.
Through ASPD’s support and collaboration with FutureLearn, courses developed under the Microcredentials@UM project have reached thousands of learners worldwide, fostering international engagement and knowledge sharing.
ASPD facilitates the development of Microcredential Courses (MC Courses) that can be offered as standalone short courses or stacked into comprehensive programs, such as Expert Tracks, Microcredentials, or even Online Degrees. This service ensures high-quality course design and delivery, helping educators maximize the potential of digital learning platforms while meeting diverse learner needs.
