External Programme Assessor

An external programme assessor help faculty in maintaining and enhancing the quality of their academic programme. Acting as an independent expert, an external assessor evaluates various aspects of the institution's academic offerings, including course design, curriculum alignment, teaching methods, and assessment strategies. Their primary objective is to ensure that academic programs meet established quality standards, are comparable to similar programs at other institutions, and align with current industry or disciplinary trends.

External assessors provide impartial feedback by reviewing course content, learning outcomes, and assessment criteria. They may also observe teaching sessions, interact with faculty, and engage with students to gather insights. Their evaluations help identify strengths and areas for improvement, offering recommendations to enhance program quality, equity, and relevance.

Appointment of external assesor must follows the guideline provided by ASPD and processed for JKIK's approval.

External Examiner

The role of an external examiner includes reviewing examination papers, coursework, and other forms of assessments to ensure they are fair, rigorous, and relevant to the learning outcomes of the program. They also evaluate grading practices to confirm that assessments are marked consistently and appropriately, ensuring that students receive fair recognition for their efforts and achievements.

External examiners often participate in assessment boards or committees, where they validate the final grades awarded to students and provide feedback on the assessment process. They may also engage with faculty to discuss curriculum designs, assessment methods, and academic standards, contributing to continuous program improvements.
