EMERALD Program

Building a career in academia, particularly in a top-ranked, competitive research university like UM can be very challenging, especially for newly-minted doctorate holders, and staff members new to UM. ADEC are here to help new lecturer to begin their academic career in UM, through  the Emerging Scholars Leadership Advancement, or in short, EMERALD Program.

The EMERALD Program, aims to support new lecturers with basic skills they will need in their day-to-day job as an academician in UM, as well as expose them to strategies and networks for nurturing their long-term career in UM. A new, more relevant structure for the EMERALD program has been developed to fit the current teaching practice in higher education.
